Help and FAQs
What materials are Buzz Jolie jewellery made of?
14K GOLD FILLED
What is 14K gold-filled?
Gold-filled is composed of multiple layers of solid gold that are pressure bonded to a core of high quality brass or sterling silver, using extreme heat. The result is a thick layer of real gold and a durable, long lasting product.
What is the difference between gold-filled and gold plated?
Gold plated pieces are often the least expensive option, however offer lower quality pieces prone to easily chip and flake. In addition to this, there are few standards about what base metal can be used and encompass a broad range of thicknesses. Gold-filled pieces will not chip or flake and are much more durable and long-lasting. Also, the standards for 14K gold-filled are strictly regulated by weight, ensuring each piece meets these requirements.
Is gold-filled actually 'filled' with gold?
Actually, all of the gold is on the outside - the only thing you need to know is that the term 'gold-filled' refers to the thick outer layer of durable, pressure-bonded, real, solid gold on the outside of the base metal.
Is 14K gold-filled jewellery good quality?
Gold-filled is 100% your best option after solid gold for both quality and durability. It not only offers a great option for people with sensitive skin, but will also not flake, chip, or turn your skin green.
Is 14K gold filled okay for sensitive skin?
Yes. Because the outside layers of the pieces are solid 14K gold, they interact with your skin in the same way solid gold would.
925 STERLING SILVER
What is 925 Sterling Silver?
Sterling silver is comprised of 92.5% pure silver and is considered a precious metal. The other 7.5% of the alloy is copper, which strengthens the silver without compromising its appearance.
